Our Take: Finally, someone at a major console maker admits what we've all been thinking. When graphics cards alone cost $800+ and consoles keep creeping toward $600, gaming becomes a luxury hobby. Microsoft's probably eyeing cloud gaming harder than ever, but until internet infrastructure catches up, we're stuck in this pricing spiral.
Fable Romance Gets Spicy (But Not That Spicy)
Microsoft revealed Fable's romance mechanics will let you hook up with NPCs again, but don't expect Baldur's Gate 3 levels of bedroom action. The upcoming reboot keeps the series' trademark quirky romance system without explicit cutscenes.
Our Take: Smart move. Fable's charm was always in its weird British humor and bizarre dating sim elements, not graphic romance scenes. Let BioWare and Larian handle the steamy stuff while Fable focuses on marrying chickens or whatever fever dream Peter Molyneux would have cooked up.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Gets Its Final Send-Off
Ubisoft announced the final content update for Assassin's Creed Shadows drops June 16, officially wrapping additional content just over a year after launch.
Our Take: Classic Ubisoft timeline. Launch a massive game, support it for exactly 12-14 months, then move everyone to the next annual release. At least they're being upfront about it instead of letting the game slowly die with radio silence.
AMD's RX 9070 GRE Disappoints at $549
AMD's new Radeon RX 9070 GRE landed with a thud at $549, earning disappointing reviews across the board. The card struggles to justify its price point in an already crowded GPU market.
Our Take: AMD can't afford to phone it in right now. With NVIDIA dominating the high end and Intel actually competing in budget territory, a mediocre $549 card helps nobody. Either price aggressively or bring better performance, because "good enough" isn't cutting it anymore.
